Character History

Kashmira is the daughter of Kas and Ma'ra. They were not a wealthy family, so Kashmira went to school on a scholarship system from what would be considered elementary school until what Deltans consider secondary school, or college. This system made it impossible for her to study at the Starfleet Academy, although all Kashmira dreamed of was to fly around the universe on a ship seeing vast new worlds and meeting new beings.

In elementary school she was a dreamer (mostly about the stars) and was often scolded by her father who wanted a better life for his daughter. She was home-schooled and taught by a local priest about the new religion her father had learned from an Earthling who was in Starfleet and had visited the planet when her father was young. She found her education interesting, but not as interesting as the globes of light she saw over her head at night.

In secondary school or college she learned that there was a different form of psychology for beings from different worlds, and that social norms were complex when comparing one world to another. She began learning that her sexuality and other beings' sexuality was very different as well. She spent four years under the private tutelage of a psychologist who taught her how to do life-coaching, massage, tantric exercises, and sexual therapy. She grew very close to her tutor, Venton, who himself had to exercise great sexual urges as their time together grew to a close. Thirty years her senior, he attempted to have an affair with Kashmira which she turned down and sought out the advice of her friend, the priest.

The priest, Hume, advised that she leave the family home and seek a home far from Venton where she could live her life the way that she had chosen (basically to not have sexual relations before marrying a Deltan man).

Kashmira gained passage aboard a civilian ship to the planet Bajor as a missionary. While on Bajor she helped the plagued and besieged people and maintained a neutral position as she helped those who needed a therapist or had fertility issues. She learned the language and kept to herself.

Character Personality

Kashmira, being a Deltan, is highly aware of the pheromones that attract others to her in sexual ways. Knowing this, she helped develop a neurotransmitter that she wears on her ear, like an earring, to help lower the levels when someone gets too attracted. She loves being around other beings, but is cautious. Her Christian upbringing, although strange for a Deltan, has allowed her to pledge that she will wait for a proper Deltan husband before engaging in sexual activities herself.

Her focus is on offering sexual healing to others and education when necessary to those she views as sexually immature.

Kashmira is tattooed with a Christian cross on the center, lower part of her back above her hip bone. She wears a ring on her left third finger which is her grandmother’s ring of marriage and a gift (her grandmother is no longer living). The earring that she wears (only on occasion) is only for medical reasons.
